Corinne Curtis wrote a new post, Good enough to give? 6 years, 5 months ago
There is something very special about putting a lot of time and creativity into making a quilt and then passing the finished quilt on to its new owner. When we make for family or friends, we want out quilts to be the…

Corinne Curtis wrote a new post, “Reformatting” an unloved, unfinished project 6 years, 8 months ago
This quilt pattern first attracted me because of the large areas of applique mixed in with some traditional piecing. I was very enthusiastic when I started, and found the instructions for the separate elements…

I think you have done well to stand firm on this, and let family and friends know why. I wonder if they even realised that what they were doing was the same as asking you to buy a present (the value of your labour) to give to someone you didn’t know. I personally don’t sell quilts, or even take money for materials, but then I have decided I will…[Read more]

Corinne Curtis wrote a new post, 10 minute make – reusable gift bags 7 years, 3 months ago
This is a fat quarter friendly way of quickly and easily making reusable gift bags, as an alternative to gift wrapping paper. I made some of these at Christmas to try them out and have no hesitation in asking for…

I think I need to take on your top tip too – I am definitely a speed sewer, but I would love to produce something that could stand up to close examination on technique (even if I only do it once!)

Thanks so much for that how-to. I’ve got a whole lot more excited about modern quilts and improv having seen a couple of demonstrations (including yours) and tutorials, and really looking forward to seeing what I can do with these blocks.

This is really thoughtful. I often see people say they don’t like it so they will pass it on. Excellent advice.
