Do you have lots of WIPs, PHDs or UFOs? If you’re not sure what these are take a look at Juliet’s post here. If you know what they are and have lots then read on ….
One way to get motivated to get them finis…

Loved your blog Abigail I’m a great starter of things (head just brimming over with ideas, and defo a bit out of control lol) and in an ideal world I would finish it provided life didn’t get in my way!!! It does though, of course I’ve signed up to catch your blogs too. X

Thanks for visiting and taking the time to comment Ingrid. I think many of us are the same – sometimes we have to get something out of our head even if we don’t finish it straight away …. to free up some space for more ideas!!!

Great blog, Abigail. Lovely to see the Stash Bee quilt finished – that’s such wonderful riot of colour and pattern! We all need some motivation to clear those UFOs! Looking forward to seeing your progress next quarter. The Hathaway Exhibition last weekend was my motivator – talk about just in time Xx

Lovely to see you here Karen!! So today is the 01 April and there’s not that many ticked off the list …. oh well they can roll over to Quarter 2! A quilt show is always a good motivator in my opinion.

There’s nothing nicer on these cold, dark evenings than snuggling up on the sofa, under a quilt, in front of an open fire with a good book. Or in my case, Kindle. I struggle to hand sew in poor light, so this time o…

Have you used Pinterest before? It’s such a great tool for quilting, I promise!
If you’ve not ventured into the world of pinterest before then it really is worth a look. Pinterest is a visual bookmarking tool that…

This has already taught me things I didn’t know!
-
Oh fabulous! Pinterest is such a valuable tool. I do spend too much time looking at all of the lovely things though!
-
-
I love Pinterest! Great place for inspiration and filing ideas. A useful blog for those who haven’t yet found this amazing tool!
-
Thanks Ingrid. I must admit I go through phases of spending FAR too much time browsing all of the wonderful things out there!

So let’s talk about Instagram, aka IG, aka insta – what is it and how do you use? And more to the point would you want to?

What a timely post! I’ve been thinking about IG for a little while but have been dithering but your post may have given me the nudge…
-
Here’s hoping the nudge works 😉 If you do set up an account there is now a thread on the FB page for you to put your name in – or alternatively let me know here 🙂

Great piece for people thinking about becoming part of the Insta community. Have to admit I’m a total IG addict, it’s certainly my favourite social media app.
-
Thanks Amy – I thought all social media apps were created equally but no!!!

I’m ruthquilts on Instagram. I have to say that I don’t like or use it very much as I’m a desktop PC girl at heart.
-
Found you Ruth! n Whilst it is a mobile phone app you can look at feeds and comment whilst on the desktop – not sure if you knew that? But you can’t add photos from the desktop.

I’m corinnecurtis12. I’m an erratic IG’er but like the way I can IG with photos straight from my phone, and share the post directly onto my facebook page. I don’t use mobile data, so my IG posts when I am out and about just sit in my phone until I get to a wifi connections. Next step is to join an instagram QAL I think.
-
Hi Corinne – my use of IG directly increased when I got a package that had date included. I know of one QAL just about to start #thecommunitysampler run by Sharon Holland and Maureen Cracknell. Intro post was last week and it’s all free!

If you use Instagram to share photos of your sewing makes, please do add the tag #ukqu I like Instagram, it is a super informal shared photo album. One enjoyable trend on Instagram to follow is the #saturdaynightcraftalong. Hope to see you in IG x pollyanna012
-
Morning Anne – just requested to follow on IG! The #saturdaynightcraftalong is a wonderful community isn’t it? I will do a post about that next weekeend 🙂
-
-
I’ve used Instagram for some time but not aware there was and IG feed for UKQU but will go over and follow. I’ve used my feed for various things not just quilting, and sometimes link posts to Facebook.
Still getting used to UKQU website and remembering to visit this from time to time.-
Found you! The UKQU feed is relatively new and just being promoted now and will hopefully become an additional community for the UKQU members.
