UKQU BOOK CLUB 6 years, 11 months agoPam,
Thank you for taking the time to comment; it’s good to know that others are reading the books too!
I am trying to pick a wide range of books, so some months may not be to your liking.
I have just downloaded the Linda Gillard book to my Kindle, thank you for the suggestion.

UKQU BOOK CLUB 6 years, 11 months agoHave finished June book and really enjoyed it. The ladies of Afghanistan certainly have had a lot to contend with. The book in May wasn’t really my cup of tea, I did finish it, but won’t be reading any more from the series.

UKQU BOOK CLUB 7 years agoThe dressmaker of Khair Khana by Gayle Lemmon. This is a book about sewing (rather than quilting) and about creating a brighter future even when it seems impossible. This is a true story about Kamila from Kabul.

UKQU BOOK CLUB 7 years agoRosemarie, I promise you that not all of the books will be part of a series, so you’ll hopefully have some ‘free’ time in the months to come! Glad you have enjoyed the books so far.

UKQU BOOK CLUB 7 years, 1 month agoThanks Pam! Having canvassed interest a year ago, it just seemed such a shame not to continue with a book club. I may be less skilled at leading any discussions, but the Forum is here if anyone would like to discuss the books.
Agree regarding the story; a bit predictable and over-simplistic, but still enjoyable.

UKQU BOOK CLUB 7 years, 1 month agoVery easy reading, enjoyable but a bit predictable – if only real life could be so easy and uncomplicated. However, I am thrilled that the book club has restarted – it’s so nice to read something that I would never have found simply looking at Amazon books, or WH Smith book stalls.
