Thank you Stacey. I can see this being a really popular series. We all need to keep ahead of the crooks because they work so hard at being dishonest!

Thank goodness the weather was so bad…or I would have been off down the “stuff shop” fast as lightning after seeing all these lovely patterns.

This is very inspiring Sandra. I think lots of us are blindsided by what feels like acres of open quilting, but you are helping us see through it.

Very successful too! I love your viewpoint: it really works. Nice to see varied techniques being used so well.

I love it! I was (almost)disappointed because it began as such a lovely spooky story…and I wanted it to go on! And a beautifully realised quilt!

What lovely quilting! It certainly complements your accurate design. Angles and curves all in one place. I really enjoyed reading this blog. It brought back many memories, as I used both the lovely old Reference Library ( when I was a student) and the Central Library. This was new then (when taking my Finals in 1974). I was rather shocked that…[Read more]

What a brilliant bit of kit! Like all the best ideas-so obvious when you think of it….but you never do! You genius! I could have done with it before Christmas when I made a complete hsq quilt!

I find this happens too. My remedy 2 fold:
* get out my scraps and sort into colours-that really gets my creatives going
* if it hasn’t worked, sew crumbs if fabric together relatively randomly. I take bits out of the bag until one “ goes”, sew it to the last one and so on. No rhyme or reason, but….I am enthused!

This is really interesting to read, as I ordered a kind of “bondaweb” and got something very like this. At the time I did not know how to use it, so this is very helpful indeed!

If I needed a new mat – I would definately consider one of these. Your concise review is excellent, the way you used various and different fabrics really proved that the mat is worth buying. Thanks Margaret.
