Love the pixie boots! I sew with my right foot. Is that unusual?

Super! What a lot of lovely runners! I too have a round table-what about doing a cruciform one?

Sparkles, the penny, the street sign, just fabulous, as we said in 1963

I just loved this! I was a teenager when it came out and loved the soaring sounds. And your interpretation is just wonderful. Rumpled linen and tired suits of armour in a quilt. I did not know there was a story behind the title-that’s the internet for you!

A lovely piece Ruth. I am really enjoying this Song Title Series! Beautifully stitched and it really does evoke a sunset on the Thames. I especially like the printing, though I do not know how that is done. It complements the work beautifully.

What a very poignant and sensitive piece about a tragedy we all felt and a community we all belong to. And when people feel unheard, as so many do,, a really powerful reminder that we are stronger when we are together.

I didn’t get it-too busy to keep up when Prince was in his heyday-but I love it! What a super quilt! So clever, too.

What wonderful news today! I am beyond thrilled to win this! After what turned out to be a dismal year in health for our family, ( including a spell in A&E for me-and believe me I never want to see my heartbeat do that again-and a nasty accident for my SIL which impacted on their whole family, ) such great sewing news.
I shall really look…[Read more] -

Food for thought! Even my husband carries a fold up bag now. You make a good point about the desirability, Ruth. It would be a shame if someone’s work were not appreciated, but all we can dois try!

Well, what a shocking lot of nasty people you have had to deal with! I missed the show but I did see some of the fall-out on UKQU. Remember, for each nasty comment, there are thousands of raised (but silent) eyebrows; don’t assume the majority agrees with them.
I like your quilts. I can only imagine how much thankless hard work it was. And I d…[Read more]

A really clear, well-illustrated explanation. Thank you. That “tad to the right” explains why they have been so difficulty previously.
I even bought a book on flying geese. It didn’t help as much as this. -

I am sorry Cheryl. Evidence we should check, and check again. You are not Lyn. And apologies Lyn!

Thank you Lyn! A very reasoned, thoughtful and considerate approach. And exactly what is needed in the social media arena!
I know here at UKQU it doesn’t ( often) get as heated as in other areas. But I feel the insensitivity and inconsiderateness often seen on social media is part of a slide towards the kind of “I’m all right Jack” attitud…[Read more] - Load More
