Before I started doing Patchwork and Quilting again after a break of over 35 years I was an avid Cross Stitcher. I designed cross stitch embroidery professionally, and still have hundreds of resource books and art books. I have had a cull of all my fiction paperbacks and given those to charity shops, but I still have all the art books and all my…[Read more]

It works! 5 mins from slash the shrink wrapped corpse to lights plugged in and working. Sprout Gate took longer but we’ll worth it when I saw the disgusted look of horror on my husband’s face xxxx

Some of you may have read some of my stories in the past, there were stand alone episodes about breaking an Olfa cutting mat, how to tackle a Moda Scrap Bag, a charity quilt that got taken to Kosovo on an Aid Convoy…

As always incredibly inventive and well executed. I live in a town which had the last battle of the civil war. We no longer have a spire on our church as that got destroyed in the battle, but still have a canon ball embedded in the wall!

Lovely memories and story and you were not the only baby to be left outside a shop in their pram. I was left outside the International Food Store in Horley in a brand new Silver Cross pram one afternoon. She only remembered when my father came home from work in the evening & they both walked a mile into town to hopefully retrieve me. In my…[Read more]

Great blog Teresa. Thank you for a fun read. Just thought I’d share a joke my 7 year old granddaughter told me yesterday. ‘Why can you never hear a pterosaur when he goes to the toilet?’. Because the ‘p’ is silent!!

Thanks for that view of the UKQU quilts Lyn Butler. Recognise most of them from the previous competitions. A cornucopia of wonderful ideas and talent .

In complete love with this new range, I am still hoarding lots of Moda Shibori & other hand dyed Indigo fabrics from the amazing Tracy Fox, so this will be an option for making reversible quilts where the backing will complement the front. I really like the way you have shown the different arrangements for the finished blocks.

There is no cure known to any avid quilter or their partner. Tell Christmas visitors you are doing panto and re-enacting the Princess and the Pea fairy story by making them climb onto a fabulous bed layered with quilts! I love your “Explore the Unknown” quilt for made for Quilts for Care Leavers … Fabulous by the way xxx
