I have never been to Whitby, I know it is somewhere up north of where I am…. but tempted to go there to meet Gulliver!

What a good idea, I might make some new insoles for my winter boots although I think using Insulbrite left over from oven glove making might be taking the thermal properties a step too far!

Wonderful story and what marvellous things you made. I can’t imagine the panic you must have been going through after that horrific crash! So pleased that all the important wedding things plus obviously you and your family survived the accident. That cake was a triumph! I love Stonny! xxx

Some jaw-dropping examples, I really like the Rhino and the thread painting on the Greyhound.

It sounds sad, but I have actually nominated a “stash executor” in my will. I don’t want my machines, books and material ending up in a skip or a black binbag to the charity shop. She is cool with that, and I know it will then be used in C4CL (Quilts for Care Leavers) ongoing efforts either for fundraising or quilts.

I am not in the WI but would love to attend one of these workshops. They look amazing especially with the Folded flower pulls and butterfly bows.

I know I have some insulbright lurking somewhere, but where? I also have an incredibly vile disgusting set of stained and burnt OG’s that look at me with disgust every time I go into the kitchen. Burnt because I have forgotten to turn the gas off before anything comes out of the oven to go on the stove top! I WILL find that heat resistant wadding…[Read more]

If bloggers on the UKQU site are not prevented or disallowed from entering the draw for tickets, I would love a pair of tickets because it is the first time it hasn’t clashed with the Fairport Convention Cropredy Music Festival.

Still can’t enter …. Sob! Fabulous prize! I read the terms and conditions and shed a tear….. as a blogger/contributor to the UKQU site, I can’t enter, but whoever does win will have an amazing time!

Sharon ….Fabulous report of 2 shows I wish I could have gone to, had they been nearer or if I had transport. Quantock Quilters are amazing for their first show, they should be immensely proud. How lovely that other group quilters at Corfe finished off Joyce Anning’s lovely work in her memory after her death to be a focal point of the show & f…[Read more]

Wonderful but heart breaking, especially regarding the 3 children who lost their father, which you took quilts to recently. Like Abigail many of us make quilts for various charity initiatives and it gives us comfort too as well, just to make them to try to make a difference.

Great idea! I currently use my large eyed gold plated cross stitch needles as they are a bit easier to thread.
