Sewing at home is usually done alone and I for one, prefer sewing in comfy clothes (think track suit bottoms or comfy leggings) and some cosy slippers. Admittedly, I take off the left slipper when using the pedal, so…

-
Haha! I saw some of these! Left footed? Are you left handed too Nina?
-
Right handed and right footed (!!!), but rather ambidextrous, so prefer using left foot for the pedal.
-
-
Love it! I think I have tried sewing left footed, but like everything, it takes practise! I suppose as well that it seems more natural to use the right foot, due to the lead being on the right hand side of the machine, and also as the foot pedal is akin to the accelerator pedal in a car.
As for the footwear – I may or may not be able to identify a pair or two!!
-
I definitely know no 9. I just wore my flip flops (And odd socks) to dinner. #noshame
-
I know who wore 5 and 3, and mine were on my feet at dinner, but off whilst I was sewing, I’m a barefoot sewer!!
-
Love the pixie boots! I sew with my right foot. Is that unusual?
-
Maggie, I believe right foot is the usual!
-
-
I was there and I can’t guess any of them! I’m sure I did see numbers 3 and 9, but can’t remember whose feet they were on.

When I was first exposed to quilting, it was because some mums in an online group were doing it. They were all amazingly excellent at it and I started by (very badly) copying what they were doing. With their…

Firstly let me apologise for not posting for a long long time. My life has been busy to say the least both at home and at work. So I thought I would take you on a journey through the production of my quilt Tr…

Lynda, thank you so much for fantastic photos and clear description of your process. Having seen that quilt in real life and close up I truly appreciate the work that went into making it. Bellissimo!!
-
Thank you Yas that is lovely to read.

What a wonderful piece of work! I am completely humbled by this. I particularly like the detail you give us on the preparation-it is all too easy to stand in front of a detailed piece of work and say flippantly, “I don’t like it!,” with no thought about what you are really seeing. So, thank you.
-
Thank you Maggie, It’s like most things, good prep work can take almost as long as the process. I hear comments too about how it must b done by computer etc. without thought to commitment involved.
-
That was exactly the strong argument I had with some “quilter” at Sandown Show about Joe’s beautiful work for her grand daughter. This old dear was adamant it HAD to be done by computer and she won’t have any truck with my comments! . Those photos really show up the stunning details that you never really grasp when looking straight at it. That backtracking on your feathers , couldn’t see a stitch out of place !

In complete love with this new range, I am still hoarding lots of Moda Shibori & other hand dyed Indigo fabrics from the amazing Tracy Fox, so this will be an option for making reversible quilts where the backing will complement the front. I really like the way you have shown the different arrangements for the finished blocks.
