Hi new blogger here, so I thought I’d introduce myself. I’m Marti and I live in Fife in Scotland.
Having taken early retirement 3 years ago, I found myself with time to twiddle my thumbs, so thought I’d try my hand at quilting. Oh My! Little did I know it would take over my life, my home.. not to mention my wallet! (I’m sure many of you can relate to this)! But it makes me happy!
I think the project on the table is always my favourite – till the next idea comes along. I absolutely loved a baby quilt/play mat that I made recently, so much so that I made 3 quilts using the same fabric. All slightly different. I used Makower’s Forest collection, and a panel which I cut up. A lovely modern colourful fabric, which just seemed to ‘sing’. I then used the scraps to make a teddy. I had been keen to try making a memory bear and this seemed an ideal opportunity to try out the pattern. (Melody Memory Bear by Funky Friends Factory). I though a nice idea to give a matching teddy with the quilt?

Welcome to the team Marti. You’re right, it does take over, but enjoy and happy sewing.
Thanks Carol.
