Does a quilters block exist?

Yes. Just like a writers block, a quilters block is real.

Staring at your fabric, at your sewing machine, paging through pattern books or just trying to give it a go. And stop again.

You want to make something, but it just does not happen. Are you familiar with that?

I am.

Since last January I did not touch my machine. I had too much work to do, too much volunteer work and we were starting the process of looking at a new home.

No creativity left, what-so-ever.

So I knitted. Socks. Fair isle socks, plain old socks, you name it.

And I had this project laying there from hand dyed silk yarn, a sweater in fair isle. I wasn’t satisfied with it, and when I took it out, I pulled it off the needles and thought of a new project, combined with alpaca wool. I knitted a freestyle coat. Just did it. No pattern, but it succeeded very well.

That started my vibes again. I made some extra notebooks, made a new happy cappy and I started BORO-ing again. Which makes me so happy.

We bought a house, I stopped with volunteering and next month we will be moving.

After that, I will start again. All over, in a new atelier, in new spirits. I really hope that I will have the flow back on track, and that I will be able to relax. The stress of moving house, in this crazy market, is really big.

And in November, I will make a kickstart with the Quilt Judging Course!

My, am I looking forward with joy…
