A few months ago a Mini Quilt Swap was organised. This is a fun event where the participants are put into groups and overlooked by their swap Mumma. Each person in the group are given a swappee but it is kept top secret. Then, over the following weeks you ‘stalk’ your swappee by putting questions to the group and take note of just your swappee’s likes and dislikes to build up an idea for their mini quilt.

A final completion date is set and we all post our minis to our swappees, this is when you find out who made your mini for you.

I have done a few of these over the years and they are great fun. This year I was asked to be a Swap Mumma!  ( my hubby was a little shocked when I told him I was going to be a Mumma again..haha).

Always up for a challenge I threw down the gauntlet and dived in with a little trepidation. I needed a little help with the tech side and sorting the partners out, but once that was sorted it was pretty much plain sailing. This was helped by my brilliant group behaving themselves throughout the following months and each choosing a design to fit the bill for their own swappee. Some just needed a little encouragement from me each time they messaged me to ‘make sure’ ….but they all knew what to make and boy did they come up trumps as you can see in the following photos.

I think you must agree these are all absolutely unique and I’m sure they were received with much happiness.

Before I conclude I must show you this one as it is very special, because I received this from my swappee and it is very loved…

There will be many more swaps in the future and I can thoroughly recommend them…it is great fun and you get to make some lovely new friends.
