I love a good gadget – emphasis on “good” and this certainly is.
I was lucky enough to have been given this tool to review – thank you Clover and UKQU
Denise Inkson has already written an excellent review detailing how to use this so I won’t go through that again (see The Cheap Procrastinator – 1st sept) .
I used some jelly rolls strips I had and cut some scrap wadding to the same size. Then inserted it into the tool as directed.

Thanks to Denise’s tips I produced a neat tube first time. If you are planning to make bags, bowls or mats using these strips I would say this gadget is a must as it will save you so much time.
I’m a bit of a “what if……..” person so I thought I would try making a tube without the wadding – it was a little more likely to slip in the tool but as long as I kept an eye on it this worked fairly well too.

Again I managed to produce a neat tube at the first attempt!
Then I thought – This makes a nice neat folded strip – just the right size for binding a quilt – so I made a strip and pressed it as I pulled it through the tool. Attached to the side of my quilt sample with some binding clips and away I went – nice neat machined binding on both the front and back – something I have never managed before.

So to sum up – I am very impressed with this gadget – I can see myself using this regularly and already have some mats planned – I can also see myself using it to bind quilts by machine.
Now I can make tubes and strips without burning my fingers on the iron
what else could I use this for?
Fabric weaving?

Maybe woven fabric baskets?
