Hi there!
I was recently asked to do a bit about copying of patterns and designs and all the contention that involves. Obviously I feel quite strongly on this subject, it being my baked-beans on toast. So I’m on…

Today I took Sarah, a non-quilter (yes I confess she was) along to the new Grosvenor Show in Newark to see what this brand new Exhibition had to offer.
We had thought about whether it was worth a day out of…

Great review Sylvia – wish I could have gone. Did Sarah enjoy herself?!!

Thanks Abigail. Yes, I think she did. She could not believe how many people were there and how fabulous the quilts were. I am thinking of taking her along to see Harrogate next month as well. We will turn her to the quilty side before much longer.

Dread having to bury all those threads after quilting? A self-threading needle will save you loads of time and it simply won’t be the chore it once was.
A ‘self-threading needle’ has a cut made in the top o…

Use this all the time

Great idea! I currently use my large eyed gold plated cross stitch needles as they are a bit easier to thread.
-
Personally I found these would shred the thread more often than not when I used them. I am however the pleased owner of some Spiral Eye needles which work in a similar fashion (without the shredding) and they are excellent.

There are a good few Professional quilters on the site and who are doing blogs so I would think there will be plenty of information on ‘how to’ on this topic. I certainly intend to address it.

I am making the hearts for a friend who is Sister working in the neonatal unit in Sheffield. She says it really helps the bond between baby and mother especially when baby is too poorly to be held at all.

I have donated so many of these, some made by me and other sent to me, to Scunthorpe Hospital. They are so quick to make too.

Of course I don’t mine you advertising my free Developmental Hearts pattern, Sylvia! I put this pattern in the shop because I have had such a buzz helping with some of the projects you talk about, and because I heard someone say they thought squares might be easier than hearts (they aren’t – so please do download the pattern and give the hearts a go).
