Like many quilters, I love fabric. I have enough to last me some years, so have made the decision to buy very little fabric this year. However, this resolution does not stop me from receiving fabric, and I was only…

Christine Hutchins wrote a new post, A Little Bit Controversial…perhapsThe Bloggerati Song Challenge 6 years, 5 months ago
I really liked the song title I was given all those months ago, when I thought the challenge and idea was something I could get my teeth into. After all, I knew I had the perfect fabric somewhere in my stash. As soon…

I love that you used sweet wrappers, all very exciting using different ‘fabrics’. Brilliant interpretation
-
Thank you Jane! It takes a bit of a ‘leap of faith’ to use sweet wrappers in something that you are going to sew. I was concerned that the sewing may rip the papers, but sometimes you just have to go for it!

-
Great interpretation and execution!!! Amazing how quickly volunteers appear when sweets are involved!
PS. No wonder I called you Teresa when you even mimic her blog titles LOL.-
Thank you Nina! Yes, Teresa was in my mind when I thought about the title – I couldn’t think of anything better as a title!

-
Well my first guess was Sweets for my Sweet, but I soon realised that was wrong. What an incredible piece this is!
-
Thank you Maggie! Some members of my quilt group thought Sweets for my Sweet as well.

-
Totally amazing, so much creativity!
-
Thank you Teresa – your blog titles inspired my blog title – I couldn’t think of a better title, as I realised that several parts of my quilt could / would be controversial. When I include religion / religious symbols in my quilting, I am aware that it could cause offence somewhere…this quilt almost sort of did that at our quilting group, where one of our members hates the song with a vengeance (mind you, we also tease her about parsnips, mashed carrot and swede – she can’t stand swede, junket…amongst other things – it makes our group Christmas dinners quite entertaining! She does tease me about my stash…)

You have not seen my Merry Sproutmass …..coming soon 30th Dec to a blog page near you!

I thought Sweets for My Sweet too, but love this
-
Thank you Candy – it was fun making it, if a little nerve wracking, wondering how it would go down with others…I have just about got to the stage where as long as I like it, it is fine. I also get to thinking that it is a process, that whatever happens, however it turns out, it is something that was just waiting to come out, and has something to say – that it is another step on the journey.

Wow! Great idea Lyn! And such a neat quilt. Didn’t know that about Penny Lane and can’t believe Paul McCartney is 78!
