Wow, can anyone tell me where February went? I can not believe that another month has already been and gone!
In this month’s blog, I am going to tell you a little bit about the history of Sashiko, (pronounced Sash –…

Very interesting Jo I think I will have to try this sometime. It seems like the only special thing needed is the needle!

A lovely read and I too want to start doing this, its just the time shortage getting in the way. One of the ladies I have coming to one of my groups is well into this method of stitching and creates some lovely pieces. I need to get over my obsession of having everything looking perfect!!! A pre-printed piece I may take a look at purchasing.

There’s nothing nicer on these cold, dark evenings than snuggling up on the sofa, under a quilt, in front of an open fire with a good book. Or in my case, Kindle. I struggle to hand sew in poor light, so this time o…

Beads make beautiful edging for all sorts of things in the patchwork and quilting world and they are so easy to do. Something I have been doing for some years is edging gift bags which can make that ‘little s…

I promised I would tell you about Laurel Burch. One of my favourite designers, probably my all time favourite, she passed away in 2007, and with her passing, all production of her fabric designs ceased. Finding her…

I love Laurel Burch designs which I first came across in San Francisco & San Diego in the v early 2000’s. I bought scarves, T shirts, greetings cards, calendars, mugs etc. I have acquired some vintage fabric pieces now, and more recently purchased some of the new lines being revived by her daughter.
-
Amazing designer and artist, and one I’d never heard of before. Thank you for introducing her to us, and so glad her designs will be being produced again.
-
I wasn’t a fan, purely because I didn’t know of her; but I am now, thank you!
-
I love Laurels cat designs. I’ve got one of her handbags and was lucky enough to find a fabric panel in the charity shop earlier this year.

It was wonderful to meet you at this event and so good to hear your take on the event. It is very different being on the other side, as it were, and I know I came away with itchy fingers just wanting to quilt all day long!!
-
Nice to meet you too Abigail, I really enjoyed being on the pupil side of the table for a change. It was a very relaxing weekend, great fun with lots of super samples at the end.
