I am making the hearts for a friend who is Sister working in the neonatal unit in Sheffield. She says it really helps the bond between baby and mother especially when baby is too poorly to be held at all.

I have donated so many of these, some made by me and other sent to me, to Scunthorpe Hospital. They are so quick to make too.

Of course I don’t mine you advertising my free Developmental Hearts pattern, Sylvia! I put this pattern in the shop because I have had such a buzz helping with some of the projects you talk about, and because I heard someone say they thought squares might be easier than hearts (they aren’t – so please do download the pattern and give the hearts a go).

Sarah Wickett wrote a new post, Sewline Fabric Glue Pen 8 years, 4 months ago
I received a Sewline Fabric Glue pen to review. The pen arrived in a clear plastic package which also included a handy glue refill.
The pen is a nice size and easy to use. The glue stick its self is a…

I really love the sewline glue pen for applique too. It holds the edges under well, but doesn’t cause any problems with your needle. I have tried using regular glue sticks, and while they are a lot cheaper, you can’t beat the sewline pen for its fine tip, better hold, and being a type of glue that just seems to work much better on fabric.
-
Corinne I quite agree, I have used the cheap made for paper craft glue sticks in the past and they tend to build up on the needle.
