Thank you Maggie, you will have to supply me with all the dates and info for your show, I can the put in my diary and advise the ladies who attend my groups here and in the shop. Sharon ….Fabulous report of 2 shows I wish I could have gone to, had they been nearer or if I had transport. Quantock Quilters are amazing for their first show, they should be immensely proud. How lovely that other group quilters at Corfe finished off Joyce Anning’s lovely work in her memory after her death to be a focal point of the show & fundraising & as for those Chooks, I would have rehomed all of them!!

They were both excellent shows, I agree. A very good showing and variety at both. Next year you will have Apple County instead, as we alternate with Corfe. Let’s hope Quantock make it a regular thing-Gill Griffiths is a UKQU member!

Fabulous. I love our annual trips to Paignton with my quilting group and this year I have a lovely trip up to Derbyshire to look forward to in July. Like many, with work and tutoring I don’t get much time to stitch myself, so a few days away just for stitching is a real treat.

I totally love this! Many years ago (1981), I was the manager of a fabric shop. Back then it was mainly Dressmaking not Quilting, but I really resonate with the reels of thread! The hours I spent on my hands and knees sorting out the colours & putting them back again into the Gutterman stand, because some precious poppet angel thought pinging them out ‘a la catapult’ was fun!

I adore red-work, I used to do it myself a long time ago, and have some antique German red-work in the loft somewhere. I must have a rummage! Nice to see it is making a comeback.

Another brilliant song title quilt…well done x

I just loved this! I was a teenager when it came out and loved the soaring sounds. And your interpretation is just wonderful. Rumpled linen and tired suits of armour in a quilt. I did not know there was a story behind the title-that’s the internet for you!
6 years, 5 months ago
It was a good job it was mentioned as I hadn’t even thought to look up the story behind it and double lucky in that my sheets theme matched the story!

Fantastic – great quilt and I love the upcycled fabrics for £3.00. What a bargain.
