Very thought provoking! There are some lovely fabrics there, they got me thinking….? Do I go up to raid my stash for the lovely red panel I have, or do I pray my other half doesn’t have a bright idea and decorate the house while I am out? Hnhmmm,….

Denham is a great venue for a retreat, I have been there twice with Avril’s group. Some amazing quilts your group has made there! Love your flowerpot and Rainbow. So pleased you enjoyed it, and like Lyn I can’t wait to meet everyone again at the Bloggerati retreat in November!

Always a pleasure to meet fellow quilters and our group ” Barclay Quilters” have been up and running for years with 3 successful retreats per year. Lovely to have met Juliet, if only from a distance just in case she spied my mini quilt…….

Fabulous. I love our annual trips to Paignton with my quilting group and this year I have a lovely trip up to Derbyshire to look forward to in July. Like many, with work and tutoring I don’t get much time to stitch myself, so a few days away just for stitching is a real treat.

My mum always said, “ Where there’s a will, there’s a way!” And you certainly prove that, Juliet. I can’t wait to see your work on it, so I really hope a machine comes up soon.

So glad I’m not the only one using a Grace quilting frame for storage. I won’t show a photo just yet – I’ve got the wooden one which I set up 10 1/2 years ago in my sewing room, and it is heavy. One day I would love to have a dedicated long arm machine on it – I’ve used my Elna 7200 on it, but that means I would need to get the workshop machine out to use for piecing – doable but…! Anyway – well done, and one day maybe both of us will get round to quilting on our frames!

I’d love to learn to long arm quilt my tops too. You were wise to get this when you could even though you don’t have a machine for it yet. I’m sure you’ll have one soon and look forward to hearing all about the journey. Good luck!

Juliet, I loved reading this, it really made me chuckle because I sometimes struggle to picture things in my head too.
Plus, I’m going to try your version of mitred corners, I think you might be onto something here!
